Us Right Now...

My Photo
Matthew and I met junior year of highschool and started dating that summer 9 years ago. We are currently living in Kahului, Hawaii on the island of Maui. I am an RN working at a local hospital. Matt is Property Manager at an apartment complex. We figure this is a great way for our friends and family to keep in touch with us while we are living so far away. We are so excited about this great opportunity and our hopes are that soon we will be moving on and up! I will try to keep this updated with our happenings.

What I've Learned...

-You can't make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
-Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
-Frame every so-called disaster with these words: “In five years, will this matter?”
-Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
-Do what you say, say what you mean, and be what you seem.
-People deserve a second chance, but not a third.
-It takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.
-You can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better know something.
-You can keep going long after you think you can't.
-Money is a lousy way of keeping score.
-Sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down will be the ones to help you get back up.
-Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
-Your family won't always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you aren't related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again.
-Background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
-Being fake only hurts you.
-Lack of loyalty is one of the major causes of failure in every walk of life, so be LOYAL to those who you want to be loyal to you.
-Just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
-You shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
-Your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.
-Education & credentials on the wall do NOT make you a decent human being.
-It's hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice so you don't hurt people's feelings and standing up for what you believe.
-Get your priorities straight or the things and people you want in life will never fall into place.
-Live with intention.
-Play with abandon.
-Live.Laugh.Love.

postheadericon Grad Pics

My cousin Brindi took these amazing photos for graduation. I am way behind on posting them...oops. These are just a few of my favorites. We drove over to Laguna Beach and it was perfect! Thanks Brindi, love ya!!

[after looking at all of my grad pics etc. I have come to the conclusion that me and Matt need recent pics...all of ours are so old. Maybe someone should learn to not be a party pooper and take photos :) ]
